Joe Mills is an elementary school teacher in Chicago. He began his professional career as an industrial design major at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After spending his first three years out of college as a toy designer, Joe returned to school to earn his teaching degree and never looked back. He loves his profession and working with children. His years as an educator have created a wealth of enriching experiences that he hopes to add to throughout his life.

After teaching for a few years, Joe slowly returned to making his own artwork. As an art teacher, he was constantly working with his students to create new an exciting work based on the principles and elements of art. It became apparent to him that he missed being able to create on his own time. Drawing and making had been part of his life into his mid-twenties. Joe works primarily with Adobe Illustrator. His vector, character- centered illustrations and designs have a child-like energy created in a very polished, graphic style. He likes his work to be fun and lively. It serves as an extension of the work he does with his students.
