If these pictures weren’t so well done, I’d probably think they were lame.
Remix Studio Bangkok

The web site for Remix Studio Bangkok is a little odd for a design studio (I had to scan the above picture froma magazine), but you can’t dispute the photography and design work they do. If you can’t tell what is happening here, it is an Alka-Seltzer tab blasting through a fatty piece of steak. I think the message, by itself, certainly works, but the execution puts it over the top. It reminds me of those stop motion pictures of bullets ripping through watermelons and playing cards which I’m sure was the intent. I’ll leave it at that…
Yeondoo Jung

As I’m posting this, the site for Yeondoo Jung is down, but I think it is worth seeing. Anyway, I think you get the idea…she takes drawings from children and creates photographs from them. I guess there is kind of a commercial aspect to this kind of artwork, but I like how she pays attention to details and is mindful of the perspective children often draw in. (Notice…everything is on a flat plain.) Maybe this is just interesting to me because I teach art, but I guess you can decide that for yourself.
