The Logo

Any good brand needs a logo…and I think I have mine. I think any logo needs to be simple and straightforward. I wasn’t too worried about getting across my message with the logo since my message is more complex. I just wanted something bold and easily recognizable. I feel like I’ve seen many logos with a double C, so I knew I had to avoid creating something that had already been done. I knew I wanted to add the slash in between the Consume and Create because I did want to get across the idea that these were two competing ideas. I played around with yin and yang type designs, but it seemed so obvious and cliche. This seems to fit. And if it doesn’t work out, I wouldn’t be the first brand to change a logo…

Consume Create T-Shirt

I’m in the beginning stages of making 3 Consume/Create t-shirts. Above, you can see my first design. I still have to fill in the rest of the diamonds, but this is the basic design. I actually think this looks better than my original sketch. I was afraid it was going to look cheesy, but it has the right bold, powerful statement I want to make. I’m deciding on whether or not I really want to include the diamonds. It seems like the right move, but I don’t want to take away from the gold color.

Since I am going down this road, I’m not sure where t-shirt production is going to take me. I’ve decided I want to make quality t-shirts. So, if I have to spend a little extra to get them produced, I will. I know that finding the right printer could be difficult. It seems like so many of them specialize in family reunion and corporate event shirts. Those are not quality. If I find the right screen printer, this could certainly be a rewarding experience for me…

Business Cards

I’m not sure how much people use business cards, but I thought I should get some professionally printed. I even read an article recently saying that the business card is dead. Regardless, it gave me a chance to check out a local printer called M13 Graphics. They are pretty much what I expected. I just wanted a pretty simple design that reflected my web site and promotional sticker. And, the price was right…
