I came across this illustration in a design book I purchased in Japan. Yes, the “in Japan” theme is still going on. I am not going to link to the site since the illustration above is certainly one of their more tamer designs. It is done by a duo who affectionately calls themselves Tokyo Guns. I love how they flip the story of Red Riding Hood in this way. It is violent, yes, but the violence is more implied. Little Red Hiding Hood is still a cute girl, but she is drawn in a very powerful pose and with a serious expression. The angle it is drawn at also gives the aura of power. If it had been drawn looking down, it would not have been as effective. Even with the great imagery of Red and the Wolf, I think the bird in the top left adds a final necessary touch to the illustration.
