Hustle & Flow

I watched Hustle & Flow for the second time this past weekend, and I was reminded of this great quote from the film…

There are two types of people: those that talk the talk and those that walk the walk. People who walk the walk sometimes talk the talk but most times they don’t talk at all, ’cause they walkin’. Now, people who talk the talk, when it comes time for them to walk the walk, you know what they do? They talk people like me into walkin’ for them.

I have written about Kagan McLeod before, but I wanted to highlight his History of Rap poster. As you can see, it is a bunch of portraits. It is done in chronological order and it highlights all the people that have influenced hip-hop over the years. As he explained on Okay Player, he focused on just the rappers since they are the most recognizable figures in hip-hop. I wish I could see everything more up close, but you can tell it is a tremendously detailed and thorough history. If so interested, you can buy a copy here.

Rickey’s the Best

It’s Rickey being Rickey before Manny being Manny. My second favorite baseball player is heading to the Hall of Fame this year, and Mike and Mike on ESPN were asking him about some of the classic stories associated with him. Who knows how many are true, but they are still funny to read about.
