For some reason, I’ve never talked about this here (maybe it is because it felt more like “nostalgia” to me and not so much “inspiration”), but I’m definitely putting this in the category of inspiration. I love games. And nothing is more inspirational than a good card game. It is amazing to me how many different card games I have played over the years. I used to play Russian Bank with my grandmother when I was younger. When I was In high school, I used to play Spades and Gin Rummy during lunch and study hall while trying to hide the cards from our deans. They thought we were gambling. With my church youth group, we used to play Hearts and a card game called Mao. The link I have chosen for Mao is close to the game we played, but there are many different ways to play. BTW, the game is nuts. With my family, we play Pinochle. I think a lot of folks think it is an old people game, but I love it. And, I like to play Two-Four Limit Hold’em Poker every once in a while now. I think what has always drawn me to these game is the simplicity of the game pay and the complexity of the strategy…the hallmark of any good game. I look forward to teaching my children these games one of these days…
