I’ve been a big fan of Scrawl Collective for a while, so I thought I would highlight two of their artists over the next two days. The whole group was featured in the new issue of Computer Arts, so I guess I got re-interested in looking at their artwork. Mr. Jago definitely takes the “scrawl” technique to an extreme. The lines are very free but focused on a specific outcome. When I used to doodle in school, I used to doodle like this, so I guess I feel an attachment to this style. It gives the eye a lot to look at without being messy or jumbled. I read that Mr. Jago is sort of done with this style and looking toward exploring another aesthetic. That’s the sign of an artist.
